Breaking My Running Hiatus at Conquer Philippines 2013

When the pressure of life gets into you, it will be helpful to constantly be reminded to have a breather and revisit the child within us. The playful kid in me was indeed awaken at Conquer Philippines 2013 and I couldn't be more rejuvenated. Without Limits Philippines and Proactive once again did a great job putting together one successful obstacle race event.

Congratulations Ryan for Winning Diadora Bag!!!

My family started this day by celebrating the holy Eucharist. There will be nothing better to do first thing in the morning than giving thanks for all the blessings we received. And since celebrating 7th wedding anniversary only comes only once in a lifetime (the next one would already be the 8th right? LOL!), I decided a week ago to raffle off one cool Diadora Bag today to express how grateful I am for all the blessings God has and continuously providing to me and my family.

Win an Awesome Diadora Bag

The 20th of January 2013 marks the 7th wedding anniversary of the Running Castles. We would like to celebrate this very special day with you by giving away an awesome Diadora Bag. One lucky winner will be drawn on our anniversary date at around 3PM. The same exact time that Nette was walking down the aisle to marry an overjoyed crying guy at the altar. I don't want to get sappy on you guys so lets just go on with the criteria of joining the contest. :D Thanks Royal Sporting House! Thanks Diadora Philippines!

Fun Run with Colorful Innovation

My wife and I had so much fun at Color Manila Run. Its my first race for the year 2013. Oooppss! Sorry, its not a race actually, its a 'fun run' reinvented with colorful innovation. Twas nothin like any regular races here in the metro. Its participants were not the regular runners we often see on running events. The starting line was like a time portal that warped me back to my childhood. It just brings out  the child in me upon transverse.

Diadora Mythos Samurai III

Diadora Mythos Samurai III is a great road shoes and works perfectly well on rough trails, tough terrains, and serious obstacle races. It survived Natures Discovery Trail Run Trilogy. It conquers Immuvit Fearless Challenge. It stands against torture tests of five trail events and numerous road races. Its latest feat was shedding a whooping 27 minutes off my marathon record at the recently concluded QCIM4. But more importantly, this shoes keeps me away from injuries.

QCIM 4 : PR on my 3rd Marathon (Part 2)

I don’t know the exact stats. But I’ll bet that Commonwealth Avenue is one of the most travelled highways in Metro Manila. Its 6 to 12 lanes road caters to thousands of trucks, PUVs, PUJs, and private vehicles every day. With its recently implemented 60KPH speed limit, I could theoretically get to my office in just 20 minutes. But some segments can easily be clogged during rush hours, thus, stretching my travel time to 45 minutes or longer every day.

QCIM 4 : PR on my 3rd Marathon (Part 1)

Quezon City International Marathon on its fourth year keeps its prestige and attracts foreign runners including a dear friend of mine to come home and grace this event. With its monumental race route exhibiting Quezon City's pride, this truly were once again a very successful event. Thanks to the Quezon City government for continuing QCIM to its fourth year. Thanks to Runnex for decades of promoting the sport. Thanks to SMDC for making QCIM a part of your corporate social responsibilities. Thanks to Without Limits for ensuring an outstanding event for runners. A big thanks to Titanium Runner for making me a part of this eminent event. And many thanks to Diadora Philippines for my shoes and apparels.

Nature's Trail Discovery Run Trilogy : Message From the Organizer

photo from Manghusi Photoshop
There are flaws in each of the Legs - hydration, bananas, and food but we'd like to believe the runners did not come for them, the runners came for the race - the trail. This belief has kept us going in spite of the hard work that goes with organizing trail running race event. For organizer its a learning experience. We started out with the Trilogy last May 27, followed by the 2nL last September 2 and finally November 25. To find the route, organizers have to go through hundreds of kilometers of probable trail routes. Its not easy as you all experienced going through the mountains.

Fearless Challenge, Endless Fun

"Fearless Challenge - No Surrender" – This is how threatening Immuvit dubbed the first leg of their race trilogy. On the contrary, the event turned out to be an endless fun and excitement from gun start up until the finish line. Its obstacles sprinkle a different flavor of fun and excitement. La Mesa Nature Reserve as its race venue provides new and enchanting trails to run onto. This was one great experience a runner shouldn't miss and I’m glad I didn't.
