Breaking My Running Hiatus at Conquer Philippines 2013

When the pressure of life gets into you, it will be helpful to constantly be reminded to have a breather and revisit the child within us. The playful kid in me was indeed awaken at Conquer Philippines 2013 and I couldn't be more rejuvenated. Without Limits Philippines and Proactive once again did a great job putting together one successful obstacle race event.

Fun Run with Colorful Innovation

My wife and I had so much fun at Color Manila Run. Its my first race for the year 2013. Oooppss! Sorry, its not a race actually, its a 'fun run' reinvented with colorful innovation. Twas nothin like any regular races here in the metro. Its participants were not the regular runners we often see on running events. The starting line was like a time portal that warped me back to my childhood. It just brings out  the child in me upon transverse.

QCIM 4 : PR on my 3rd Marathon (Part 2)

I don’t know the exact stats. But I’ll bet that Commonwealth Avenue is one of the most travelled highways in Metro Manila. Its 6 to 12 lanes road caters to thousands of trucks, PUVs, PUJs, and private vehicles every day. With its recently implemented 60KPH speed limit, I could theoretically get to my office in just 20 minutes. But some segments can easily be clogged during rush hours, thus, stretching my travel time to 45 minutes or longer every day.

QCIM 4 : PR on my 3rd Marathon (Part 1)

Quezon City International Marathon on its fourth year keeps its prestige and attracts foreign runners including a dear friend of mine to come home and grace this event. With its monumental race route exhibiting Quezon City's pride, this truly were once again a very successful event. Thanks to the Quezon City government for continuing QCIM to its fourth year. Thanks to Runnex for decades of promoting the sport. Thanks to SMDC for making QCIM a part of your corporate social responsibilities. Thanks to Without Limits for ensuring an outstanding event for runners. A big thanks to Titanium Runner for making me a part of this eminent event. And many thanks to Diadora Philippines for my shoes and apparels.

Epic Relay 250 : Leg 14 - Deceitful Heads-up

I’m eager to run leg 14. I need to get back in the game after being badly beaten under the heat of the sun in my last run. The elevation-profile of leg 14 shows that it is downhill. And I’m determined to use this to my advantage. But the supposed heads-up from the race bible will turn out to be my worst nightmare.

Epic Relay 250 : Leg 24 - Push From A Ghost

Rjay gave his all on leg 21. He cut the lead of the 12th team from 20 minutes down to 5. He did it by clocking his 6.7 kilometers in 31 minutes. Then Carlo capitalized on it by reeling his counterpart in leg 22 and finishing 200 meters ahead. Yey! Van 1 got possessed with the spirit of competitiveness. With all the excitements of team members after taking the 12th rank, I was silently praying that Jason could expand the lead longer.

Trailing Above The Clouds (Part 3)



Have you ever felt so little and irrelevant? So small and yet abundance of everything are provided to you every day? I have. My faith was renewed when I ran Natures Trail Discovery Run. I appreciated all my blessings just by looking at this canvass which is a masterpiece that was painted by the Hands of God. Moreover, being able to run on it with enough strength becomes my realization of how wonderful this life I’m given.

Trailing Above The Clouds (Part 2)

The long wait for the gunstart made me antsy. The sun is about to comeout. In a cold misty morning, theres a chill that runs through my spine. A chill that wasn't caused by the cold weather but rather from the fear and anxiety that needs to take a back seat once the gun start fires.

Jared started the count down for the 21K runners:

Trailing Above The Clouds (Part 1)

There's something about trail running that frightens me. The weird thing is I don't exactly know what brought me that fear. But now, I have to face that fear and settle things out once and for all. Now I'll run Natures Trail Discovery Run with excitement (and anxiety) of a first timer. Off we go and cruised with a decent and consistent speed. The fast pace lasted for almost an hour until we made a turn to a rough terrain. "Here we are" - my utter mumble. We slew down a little as a precaution and after a short while, we came to a full stop. Then Christian, one of the organizers, announced that we had arrived and needs to get off the bus and start walking our way to the starting line. Two Thumbs Up for Hyundai Run for a Cause

Two thumbs up! That is how most of the 26,000 participating runners would gesticulate after finishing the recently concluded Hyundai Run for a Cause 2012. Hyundai Run now on its second year again pulled off one grand event not just for Filipino runners but more importantly for eight different social advocacies.
