CONQUER PHILIPPINES 2013 : The Urban Adventure

I do enjoy races that doesn't only offer a plain pavement to stomp onto. Races with additional challenges makes my mind forget about my tired feet. More so, makes me feel like a kid again. At my age, bringing back the child in me is a big deal. LOL! Come March 10 2013, "the" new obstacle race will come in the city. Don't be left out! Register and be surprised to what Without Limits and Proactive are in store for us this time. They organized prime and innovative races recently and it seems that their think tanks are still far from empty. This race will be brought to us by FSPI distributor Optimum Nutrition, a sports nutrition company, with the race carrying the Optimum Nutrition brand popular to athletes and bodybuilders

PMMA FEST 2013 : Takbo Para sa Marino (5K Fun Run)

Just last year, China and the Philippines was locked on a naval stand-off. Our largest naval vessel was engaged with two Chinese maritime surveillance in a remote lagoon in the south china sea. Only then I realized how important the marines are. They are our first line of defense out in the sea, thus, its imperative to strengthen them or at least do something for their welfare. As runners, we now have a chance to look out on the welfare of those who are looking out for us and our sovereignty for almost two centuries.

QCIM 4 : PR on my 3rd Marathon (Part 2)

I don’t know the exact stats. But I’ll bet that Commonwealth Avenue is one of the most travelled highways in Metro Manila. Its 6 to 12 lanes road caters to thousands of trucks, PUVs, PUJs, and private vehicles every day. With its recently implemented 60KPH speed limit, I could theoretically get to my office in just 20 minutes. But some segments can easily be clogged during rush hours, thus, stretching my travel time to 45 minutes or longer every day.

QCIM 4 : PR on my 3rd Marathon (Part 1)

Quezon City International Marathon on its fourth year keeps its prestige and attracts foreign runners including a dear friend of mine to come home and grace this event. With its monumental race route exhibiting Quezon City's pride, this truly were once again a very successful event. Thanks to the Quezon City government for continuing QCIM to its fourth year. Thanks to Runnex for decades of promoting the sport. Thanks to SMDC for making QCIM a part of your corporate social responsibilities. Thanks to Without Limits for ensuring an outstanding event for runners. A big thanks to Titanium Runner for making me a part of this eminent event. And many thanks to Diadora Philippines for my shoes and apparels.

Nature's Trail Discovery Run Trilogy : Message From the Organizer

photo from Manghusi Photoshop
There are flaws in each of the Legs - hydration, bananas, and food but we'd like to believe the runners did not come for them, the runners came for the race - the trail. This belief has kept us going in spite of the hard work that goes with organizing trail running race event. For organizer its a learning experience. We started out with the Trilogy last May 27, followed by the 2nL last September 2 and finally November 25. To find the route, organizers have to go through hundreds of kilometers of probable trail routes. Its not easy as you all experienced going through the mountains.

EarthFest 2012 and The Environmental Hero Awards

Millions all over the world have felt the devastating effects of the earth’s degradation – increased occurrences of flash floods, super typhoons, severe drought, tornado outbreaks, and more. The earth is no longer the safe, beautiful, and nurturing home that it used to be because man simply kept on taking but failed to give back to Mother Nature.

Walang Plastikan: Race Against Plastics

When the rainy season is upon us, we relive the tragedy of past typhoons in our lives. One major root cause of continuing floods in the metropolis is our perennial garbage problem. Being part of the "solution", RUNDEZVOUS in partnership with the Pasay City Government who will implement City Ordinance 4647 on the “Non-usage of Plastics” by October 2012, will stage "Walang Plastikan: Run Against Plastics" to get the fire started on this advocacy.

Epic Relay 250 : Leg 8, 18, & 28 by Teejae Amorado

A shyly-fast runner (meron ba non?). Wouldn't say a thing and let his finish-times speak for him. His actions speaks louder than words especially when I saw him with his groovy moves in the tune of "Call Me Maybe". One strong runner who completes the Six:30 10-man Epic Team! Thanks TeeJae! Epic Relay 250 : Leg 7, 17, & 27 - Allan Ray Enriquez

Leaders are often not used to praises. They would give the credits of the group's accomplishments to the people he leads rather than plucking feathers for his own hat. This article now depicts one great leader who single-handedly dealt with all the epic trials before this epic dream became a reality. The father of Six:30 Epic Adventure - Allan Ray Enriquez (aka Running Free Manila). Thank you so much RFM for permitting me to repost your inspiring story. Iba ka!!

Epic Relay 250 : Leg 6, 16, & 26 - Tina Deray

She's always in the lead pack in every training sessions of Six:30 running group and could easily keep up the pace. Actually, its difficult for her to run slow. I'm a witness of how strong she had become under the coaching supervision of Allan. She's strong and could run through her injury if she have to. She's determined and would train in the rain if she needs to. A pure bred purple Barney - Tina Deray. And here's her Epic Story.

Epic Relay 250 : Leg 5, 15, & 25 by Glo Arbatin Labao

Runner #5 happens to be the only (running) rose among the (running) thorns in Van #1. But being the muse doesn't mean she'll be the slowest. As an assistant team leader of AdiNation of Runners (UP Diliman), her reputation of being fast and strong were all evident in the recently concluded Chris Sports 250K Epic Relay. Decorated with fast-marathon times here and abroad, here's Glo Arbatin Labao and her Epic Story.

Epic Relay 250 : Leg 3, 13, & 23 by Jayson Escobar

One could show his true fighting spirit through running. When the pain starts setting-in, that is the time when men gets ahead and be separated from the boys. I have seen the level of difficulties of leg 3, 13, and 23. And by the looks of it, there's no doubt that Jayson Escobar pulled them of with flying colors. The runner that motivates me whenever I see him dashing towards me - Jayson Escobar. And this is his account of Six:30 Epic Adventure.
